Top Tory calls for British withdrawal from Iraq.
Michael Ancram has become the first senior Tory to call for British forces to withdraw from Iraq. He argued that "It is now time for us to get out of Iraq with dignity and honour while we still can".

It is the "while we still can" bit that I find most interesting.
1 Comments:

And he meant that they are leaving with or without honor and/or dignity (not that imperialist murderers, plunderers and slavers of any stripe have had either of those qualities -- except in their own minds, and in their organs of propaganda and their memoirs (eh, Winston, you fat, nasty, criminal fuck..?)

Mercenaries are not heroes: it is the people's own homegrown champions, thrown up unexpectedly out of daily life struggle, who are always the real heroes. It is not the calculating ones, who seek it out -- like police or military goons -- who can ever be real heroes.

And so these marauders are leaving: if not like from Dunkerque or Saigon, then at least like from India.

Poor Iraqis in any case.
